In some cases, you may need to hide a section of a page from public view while you are working on it or have only selected users view the content. You can use the module permissions to do this.

Normal settings

By default the module will be set to use the same roles/permissions as the page itself. You should see the “inherit view permissions from Page” box checked.

If this does not work, please contact a site admin because there may be an issue with the page permissions or a role itself, and may require more attention and support.

Making a Module Visible to Only Select Users

If you need to hide a section from regular users, you can add specific roles to the section.

  1. Make sure you are in edit mode and have clicked the pencil (you should see dotted lines around the modules)

2. Hover over the top right of the module and select “settings” (the gear icon).

3. Make sure the “inherit permissions from page” checkbox is NOT selected.

4. Use the “filter by roles” dropdown and choose “all roles.”

5. Under the other dropdown for “select role”, find the role you need.

Click “Add”

6. Select whether you want this group to view or edit the content.

...

Finally click the blue “update” button.
