Description
Discuss the opportunity to implement our first marketing “microsite” for CDA Presents.
Marketing is already looking at ways to spotlight the next CDA Presents, but they are looking at doing so inside the confines of the http://cda.org website templates and standards. Rather than making changes to our core Dnn site, I would like to give marketing the opportunity to fully embrace campaign level customization with a microsite that is entirely dedicated to fall CDA Presents.
The mission for http://cda.org is to provide consistent “library” functionality that is fast, predictable, consistent, easily navigated, easily searched. As such, it is best not to subject it to one-off changes. Microsites are the opposite – they are marketing web pages that are intentionally unconstrained. You have seen microsites before, but perhaps did not know that’s what they are called.
We will not implement microsites in Dnn. They will stand alone HTML/CSS/JavaScript pages. IT will figure out where to host them, but Marketing is free to build any HTML page they want, unfettered by our http://cda.org website policies.
