Some months ago, our website team introduced a series of changes to bring http://cda.org to a steady state. We have some important updates to share as we move to the next operational phase. In summary:

Content Publishing Responsibilities Going Forward

While it was beneficial in the short-term, we can no longer afford to contract developers (10# Gorilla) handling content updates. This is especially true considering the pandemic’s fiscal impact on CDA.

The website platforms team, wsplatform@cda.org will support the website platform and architecture going forward, while routine content updates will be performed via self-service by content owners/producers. Additionally, the Marketing team will be available for content and accessibility support.

The website team’s goal has always been to enable self-service publishing on http://cda.org website as much as possible. Before we could do that, the website needed software and platform upgrades. Those upgrades are now complete.

Self-Service publishing has multiple benefits:

Website Content Governance

To ensure our site remains accessible, and usable, it is worth mentioning that content published needs to follow best practices and website standards, specifically:

The website team is always available for questions on any of the specific rules. Automated checks will help us find mistakes and we will continue update our documentation over time. We expect content writing and formatting rules will become second nature quickly.
