Sub-Headers

Sub-Headers

The next part of your template is going to focus on subheaders. Subheaders are used to break up long body copy and indicate to the reader that there is a new idea (H2 headers) or a subpoint of the previous idea (H3 headers).

Subheaders may not always be used in body copy especially if it is concise like a product description. However, it can be used in FAQ pages or blog posts to help break up text and make it easier for readers to, well read.

Sub-headers follow the same guidelines as headlines in the fact that they should be:

  1. Keyword-driven (usually secondary terms are great for subheaders).

  2. Six to eight words long.
