Adding New Easy DNN News Sections to Pages
On bottom left of the page click “Add Module”
2. Scroll to find Easy DNN News
3. You should see a hovering module ready to be placed on the page.
4. Click and drag the module to where you want it located. Then click “Open” to configure it.
5. All settings are available here from this view. Make sure you are editing custom settings and not portal settings (or you will modify all instances of Easy DNN News across the site).
These are some of the most important settings to look at:
Permissions tab controls who can edit this section, download documents, view resources, etc. This uses the roles that have been created in DNN (info here: Roles Overview and FAQs )
Main display settings control the catalog or list view of Easy DNN News. From here you can select what type of list you want (article is used for newsroom and other sections and the catalog view is for the Resource Library templates).
The “Open article details” controls where you want the articles or resources to open.
Finally, you can choose to show or hide pagination.
Filters determine which resources or articles show up on a given page.
You can select specific articles, use categories, filter by date, etc.
For more info on categories and how they are used please see here:
Managing Categories in Easy DNN News
Templates control the visual appearance. Templates must be managed through the code repository and are specific to the place where each Easy DNN News instance is used, so please change this only if you know the template intended for this location and do not modify or add new templates from this view (developers will do this).
Make sure to click save at the bottom of the page when complete.
While there are many other settings available, these are the most commonly used settings.
